SLIP was started in 2018 by three working ceramicists who wanted to create a collaborative and accepting work environment for mud heads of all skill levels. We offer studio memberships, classes on a range of subject material, and pottery for sale.
We offer monthly memberships with a two month minimum commitment. Members get 24/7 access to the studio and free firings for pieces smaller than 7”

DO I NEED PRIOR EXPERIENCE TO JOIN A CERAMICS CLASS?
Not at all! We welcome all skill levels, from beginners to experienced potters. Our classes are designed to accommodate everyone, so you can start from scratch or refine your skills.
WHERE DOES SLIP. SOURCE ITS CLAY?
We're proud to use locally sourced clay, some of which we harvest from the surrounding area right here in Brooklyn. It's a part of our commitment to staying connected to our community and environment.
CAN I BRING MY OWN CLAY TO USE IN CLASS?
In most cases, we provide clay as part of the class fee. If you have a special request or would like to bring your own clay, please contact us in advance to discuss the details.
WHAT SAFETY MEASURES ARE IN PLACE FOR IN-PERSON CLASSES?
We take the safety of our students and staff seriously. During in-person classes, we follow all recommended health and safety guidelines, including social distancing and sanitization, to create a safe and enjoyable environment.
